The whole process

How Stembiosis works

From first message to final payout, every deal follows the same eight steps — and the money never moves until you both agree it should.

  1. 1

    Find your collaborator

Browse producers and vocalists by genre tags, or get matched directly. Completed-collab counts are right on the profile, so you know who actually finishes work.

  2. 2

    Propose the split

Set the deal amount and how the payout divides between you — a plain percentage, agreed up front. No basis points, no fine print.

  3. 3

    Both sign

Terms only lock in once you've both signed. Change your mind before that and nothing is binding — renegotiate freely.

  4. 4

    Fund escrow

The agreed amount moves into Stembiosis-held escrow through Stripe — visible to both of you, released to neither until the work is done.

  5. 5

    Trade stems

Preview stems move freely while you work the track. Master stems stay locked and undownloadable until escrow releases.

  6. 6

    Label the origin

Every stem gets marked human-made or AI-assisted by whoever uploads it. That’s what keeps the “Made by Humans for Humans” badge honest — and either of you can flag a stem if the label looks wrong.

  7. 7

    Release the escrow

When you both confirm the work is done, funds release automatically — split per your agreed percentage, minus a 5% platform fee.

  8. 8

    You're covered either way

If a collaborator goes dark, you can reclaim your funds after 14 days without waiting on them. If a stem's origin looks misrepresented, flagging it shows up on that person's profile.
